Custom Sizes & Special Shapes

We manufacture to drawing. Alongside the standard formats, we press brick and shapes and cast precast components to non-standard sizes. Send any dimension not listed and we will quote it.

Refractory brick sizes and special shapes

We supply the standard 230 x 115 x 75 mm straight brick and the full range of special shapes, and we press to drawing when a job needs a non-standard size. Typical alumina grades run from 40% fireclay up to 99% alumina.

Insulating fire brick (IFB) sizes

Lightweight insulating brick in the standard brick format and matching arches, in grades from 1260°C to 1650°C hot-face rating. Backup-layer sizes and hot-face cuts are made to requirement.

Ceramic fibre blanket, board, module and paper sizes

Ceramic fibre in blanket, board, module, paper and rope, in 1050 to 1425 grade. Blanket and board are stocked in common thicknesses and densities and cut to size; modules are built to the face size and depth the lining needs.

Precast castable shapes

Burner quarls, lintels, anchor blocks and other precast components cast from dense low-cement and conventional castables, with anchors set as required. Cast to your drawing and heat-treated before dispatch.

The list below is a selection of sizes we have supplied, not a fixed catalogue. If your dimension or grade is not shown, send us a drawing: we press and cast to specification in any size, across the full range of refractory and insulating grades.

Common questions

What is the standard fire brick size?
The standard straight refractory brick is 230 x 114 x 65 mm (roughly 9 x 4.5 x 2.5 inch). Most special shapes are derived from this format.
Can you supply non-standard or custom sizes?
Yes. Bricks and shapes are pressed to drawing, and precast castable components are cast to drawing. Send the dimensions and material grade and we will quote it.
What is the largest shape you can make?
Large machined specials such as burner blocks and tap-hole blocks are routine. The practical limit depends on the shape and grade; share the drawing and we will confirm.
Which materials are available?
High-alumina and fireclay brick from 40% to 99% alumina, insulating fire brick from 1260°C to 1650°C, ceramic fibre from 1050 to 1425 grade, and low-cement and conventional castables for precast shapes.
How are custom sizes quoted?
Send the shape, material, size and unit for each item. Pricing depends on quantity, grade and tooling, which we confirm on enquiry.
